Reviews

Staying for a near bye wedding, got a meal quickly on arrival, we were short of time after a long journey and knowing that the wedding breakfast wouldn’t be until 4 we needed recharging. We understood booking in wasn’t until 3pm but our bags where taken up to the room and we were given keys for a late return. We were at the start of a heat warm on 17th July so it was great on our return being offered iced water brought up to our room that was nectar. Very large comfy room, I have done the night shift for 29 yrs and I’m a poor sleeper and i truly slept 7 hours which I haven’t done in years. Breakfast was very good in a beautiful high ceiled dining room, poached eggs are so often disappointing but not here.

Fantastic hotel / pub set in small village on the edge of Sherwood Forest and other tourist hot spots. Very old building but everything inside great . Our bedroom was just as website photos very clean first class bed and wonderful bathroom could not be better. We had a meal in bar area on our first night lots to choose from the menu and the food was delicious. All came hot and freshly cooked to order. Breakfast in the morning was in the restaurant area all tables were number to your room so no fighting for a table the choice was great hot and cold . Nothing was too much trouble for the staff that went from checking in to leaving . I can’t thank them enough for wonderful stay in Forest Lodge.

My husband and I were looking for somewhere to stay for the night as we were coming down to Nottinghamshire to collect a car. The Forest Lodge was in the area and we decided to book based on other reviews. The room wasn’t massive but we were offered a choice (and advised about this) at the time of booking. The room was great as it was both very clean and well equipped (hairdryer, hospitality tray, complimentary toiletries etc). The beds were exceptionally comfortable and we both slept well. The staff were all a credit to the hotel. Everyone was helpful, courteous and really nice. For the price we paid, we were more than happy and would certainly go back if we ever had cause to return to the area.
