As essential parts of the hotel, the Forest Lodge boasts two intimate, beamed public bar areas with open fires. At any one time we have a selection of four different cask ales on offer in addition to Charles Wells’ ‘Bombardier Bitter’ which is permanently available.
We have been independently accredited by ‘Cask Marque’ and appear in The Good Beer Guide. We are regularly in touch with traditional breweries, both local and national, and are constantly striving to introduce new beers for our customers to try.
The Thompson Family and all the staff are very proud of their achievements. Indeed the Forest Lodge has been voted “Nottinghamshire pub of the year” 2011, as well as “Pub of the season summer 2011, winter 2012 and spring 2015. We also have been recently awarded ” North Nottinghamshire Pub of the year 2013 “.
Please note that we also are collaborating with Welbeck Abbey Brewery who brew on our behalf The Forest Lodge English pale ale – 3.6%, a light golden hoppy session ale.

As well as reasonable prices, you can expect a hearty welcome and a vibrant pub atmosphere.
The bar is open from 11.30-3pm and from 5.30-10.00 pm Monday to Wednesday, from 11.30-3pm and from 5.30-11pm Thursday to Saturday and Sunday from 12-9pm. Bearing in mind the current economical climate, we reserved the right to close earlier if the trade is very quiet. For food hours, please take a look at the restaurant page of the website.
Pet policy: We do not accept dogs ( except guide dogs ) in the main bar area or in the hotel bedrooms. However we do accept them at quieter time in the smaller bar area we have at the rear of the building near the restaurant.
